If you have a child with attention deficit disorder symptoms or you are an adult and think you may have some of these, you may be wondering whether or not you can ignore them. After all, many of us are so busy, we may not even notice them or think that it is simply part of a particular person’s personality. After all, we all know people who have lots of energy in seemingly endless supply.
However, when it comes to this type of disorder, you would do well not to ignore the various symptoms. The reason for this is that often times it is all too easy to just say that it looks like they are having an off day or that the child in question will grow out of this particular behavior. However, by doing this, you are in effect not only ignoring the attention deficit disorder symptoms but you may also be ignoring the person themselves.
Indeed, if this is a child we are talking about, then they may decide to get your attention in other ways that will ultimately land them in trouble. In fact, by ignoring the symptoms, you may in fact be setting them up for a very difficult life as an adult.
Of course, many people will point to attention deficit disorder and say that the symptoms are hard to quantify. This is true especially when you consider that a lot of the symptoms simply look like hyperactivity which, depending on what you’ve eaten, can be something that you have fairly regularly. It makes it very difficult to decide what is a symptom and what is simply a person acting out to get attention.
The last thing you want to consider is that by taking the time to ensure that what you are seeing are in fact attention deficit disorder symptoms, you will learn more about them and be better able to help a person in question. The thing to think about here is that if you had the same problem, which want people to ignore you, marginalize you, and simply ensure that they are not around when you are? This is something that many of us don’t realize and it needs to be taken into account. Remember that by and large while we are all responsible for our behavior, people with this type of disorder need all the help they can get and as such, it does not do to simply ignore them.
